Since opening in February 2026, The Newman has been bringing a fresh energy to Fitzrovia, with a distinctly design-centric approach rooted firmly in the neighbourhood itself. Created by Kinsfolk & Co. and designed by Lind + Almond, the hotel was conceived as a love letter to the area and its colourful history, with bohemian icon Nancy Cunard providing particular inspiration – her signature bangles and polka dots subtly reappear throughout the property in the form of circles and geometric details.
Fitzrovia is one of those central London neighbourhoods that visitors can easily overlook, despite being moments from Oxford Street and within walking distance of Marylebone, Soho and the West End. The Newman leans into that local feeling, creating a design-led hotel that feels less like both a base for sightseeing and an invitation to experience the local neighbourhood.
Brasserie Angelica provides an all-day European dining option, while the basement speakeasy brings a completely different energy, with plush booths and low lighting that feel like New York. For those wanting a little more space and discretion, the Penthouse is particularly special – unusually for London, its generous terrace is almost as much of a feature as the indoor living space, making it ideal for hosting, longer stays or simply retreating from the city in complete privacy.
Séntire’s take: What really fascinated us were the details in the rooms – the kind of thoughtful touches you might otherwise walk straight past. Look closely and you'll find things like the ring dish featuring sketches of Fitzrovia locals, inspired by people the team encountered on the streets while developing the hotel. The Penthouse is another standout for us, particularly for guests who value discretion and space – a rare combination in central London.
