Ex-Soho House COO Martin Kuczmarski has opened The Dover – a New York Italian Restaurant & Bar on – you guessed it – London’s Dover Street. What may sound like another trivial London opening, has a cool, young and groovy vibe to it – unlike many of its older Mayfair neighbours. Start with a drink in the lounge – a place where Cipriani meets Soho House. Then, heading by the collection of Vynil records, head to the restaurant. Between dim chandeliers and candlelight, it’s a place for romantic and intimate encounters. From the menu, have a dig into their excellent ‘Tuscan Minestrone’ followed by the ‘Lobster Ravioli’ or the ‘Lemon & Chilli Spaghetti’.

Best for: One-on-ones or chatty group dinners.
