St Clement is the latest project from Soho House founder Nick Jones, sitting alongside 180 The Strand and signalling the beginning of a much-needed new chapter for this corner of London. Designed by Eagle + Hodges, the interiors are exceptionally considered – residential in feel, full of tactile materials, vintage pieces and thoughtful details that make you want to actually spend time in your room, from well-stocked amenities and little gifts to drawers filled with games.
There is something deliberately communal about the hotel without it feeling like a members' club, while Café Clement is already shaping up to be a new fashion and creative hotspot, particularly during London Fashion Week. Upstairs, Lunette, led by Florence Knight, will add another dining destination, while a substantial spa and wellness space is set to follow in the basement. The residences offer Soho House membership as part of the experience, extending the property's appeal beyond a traditional hotel stay.
Séntire’s take: St Clement is made for the contemporary, curious traveller who cares as much about design as they do location. It's boutique in spirit, highly considered without feeling overly opulent, and perfectly placed for exploring London's biggest sights on foot while still feeling connected to the city's creative scene. Most importantly, it encourages you to put the phone down, settle in and actually enjoy the hotel – which, increasingly, feels like a luxury in itself.
