On the corner of Burlington Arcade and Savile Row, RH Mayfair has given a long-empty historic building a new lease of life – and, arguably, found the tenant it was waiting for. The American design house has always understood that selling furniture is about more than the furniture itself: across its global galleries, RH creates an entire world around its collections, and Mayfair is its latest, beautifully immersive chapter. The pieces have a quiet, grounding quality – considered, tactile and designed to make a room feel instantly more settled. The gallery houses two restaurants, one on the ground floor and another on the rooftop - The Perch by Anouska Hempel - alongside its own coffee shop, making it somewhere you can easily spend an afternoon rather than simply browse. Even if you leave without taking a single piece of RH home, walking through the gallery is an experience in itself – although we wouldn't blame you if something followed you out the door.
