Pollini at Ladbroke Hall is one of those restaurants that feels like a refreshing surprise – particularly given its location just beyond the better-known Notting Hill dining scene.

Set within Ladbroke Hall, an arts and culture space housing Carpenters Workshop Gallery alongside exhibitions and live events, the restaurant brings together Italian cooking, striking design and an impressive collection of contemporary art. The food is every bit as compelling as the setting, with pizzettethat are genuinely addictive, alongside beautifully executed pastas such as the paccheri and spaghetti with gambero rosso. In summer, the landscaped garden is the place to be, while in the colder months we recommend an early dinner, when the candlelit room feels particularly atmospheric – although don't be surprised if the DJ starts playing by the time you're reaching dessert.

Séntire’s take: Pollini is for when you want dinner to feel like more than just a meal. The combination of art, architecture, excellent Italian food and an ever-changing cultural programme makes the journey west feel entirely worthwhile – immersive and curated.
