LUUM sits between Santa Eulalia and San Carlos, away from the restaurants most visitors tend to gravitate towards, and has become more of a local favourite than a tourist stop. The setting is rural, while the restaurant itself has a strong design point of view, with warm earth tones, a small curated shop and a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. The cooking centres around a wood-fired grill, with Mediterranean dishes taking inspiration from Middle Eastern and Peruvian cuisine. It works particularly well outside of peak season, when the countryside setting feels even more removed from the rest of the island.
Séntire's take: We like LUUM for its slightly unexpected mix of restaurant, cocktail bar and design shop. The grilled zucchini, grilled leeks, charred miso eggplant and mushroom shawarma are all worth ordering, particularly if you want to explore the vegetable side of the menu. For something from the grill, the tuna parpatana with spicy tomato and piparras is another standout. Choose the terrace for a more relaxed countryside dinner, or stay inside for the stronger design element. It is a good reminder that Ibiza has a dining scene well beyond the usual names.
