Formerly Casa Cruz, Cece’s has inherited much of the seductive atmosphere that made its predecessor such a Notting Hill favourite. The dim lighting, velvet interiors and low-lit dining room remain largely unchanged, creating a setting that feels sultry without trying too hard.
The main transformation is on the plate, with the new menu bringing plenty worth returning for – we particularly rate the langoustines as a starter, scallop crudo and porcini risotto. Finish with an affogato – an ideal digestif.
Séntire’s take: Cece’s is best saved for a special occasion, but without going over the top. Come with a date, settle into the velvet and let the low lighting do the rest. Ask for a table on the second floor.
