Babington House is one of those places that works equally well as a countryside day escape or a proper weekend away, although we think two nights is more than enough to settle into its rhythm without losing the curiousity to discover. Set across 18 acres of Somerset countryside, the Grade II-listed manor feels particularly special in spring, summer and early autumn, when its expansive grounds become the real draw
Spend the day between the sun loungers, the outdoor pool and the lawns, stopping for lunch and drinks before wandering down towards the lake. The House itself has 33 bedrooms, alongside tennis and padel courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and plenty of space to simply do very little.
Séntire's take: We particularly love Babington for their new series ofsupper clubs, where members can gather for beautifully considered dinners in unexpected outdoor settings – keep an eye on the programme when planning your visit. It is these kinds of experiences that make Babington feel less like a traditional country hotel and more like a living countryside community, with food, culture and a strong social element woven into the stay. We can't wait to attend one ourselves...
